These are the terms for using Ascension (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to them and to the guidelines.

This is a beta

Ascension is unfinished. Things will change, break and occasionally be lost. Keep your own copies of your work; do not treat this as your only backup.

Your account

• You need to be at least 13, or older where your country’s law requires it.
• You are responsible for what happens on your account and for keeping your password to yourself.
• One person, one account per login. Do not impersonate anyone.

Your work stays yours

You keep every right to what you upload. You give us permission to store it, resize it and show it on Ascension — on your page, in the feed, in communities and in link previews — for as long as it is posted. That permission ends when you delete the work or your account. We do not sell your work, license it to anyone else, or use it to train AI models.

When other people repost a piece, it appears under their name with yours attached. Deleting the piece removes it there too.

18+ work

• Work with nudity, sexual content or graphic violence must be marked 18+ when you post it. Marked work is blurred until a viewer confirms they are 18 and chooses to see it.
• Unmarked 18+ work can be marked or removed by a moderator. Anything sexual involving minors is never allowed, marked or not.

Prices, terms and commissions

Artists can publish their prices and terms on their page. That sheet is information only: Ascension takes no orders, handles no payments and is not a party to any deal. Any commission, payment or refund is between you and the other person, and we are not responsible for it. Report a scam with the Report button and we will act on the account.

Crediting other artists

If your portrait or banner was drawn by someone else, credit them. Crediting an artist does not mean they endorse your page.

What we can do

• Remove content that breaks the guidelines, and close accounts that keep breaking them.
• Change or withdraw features. During the beta this will happen often.
• Change these terms. If the change matters, we will tell you before it applies.

Ascended, the paid tier

• Ascended is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, and renews until you cancel.
• It changes how your page looks and lets you start a community. It never changes how your work is found.
• You can cancel at any time from the Ascended page; it stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
• Cancelling deletes nothing. Paid choices you made are kept and return if you subscribe again.
• Payments are not refundable, except where the law where you live requires a refund. Cancelling stops the next renewal.

Donations

You can donate to Ascension from the support page. A donation is a gift, processed by Stripe. It buys nothing on the site and is not refundable except where the law requires.

Leaving

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. That removes your page, your posts and their images, your comments, messages and bookmarks, and cancels any subscription. It cannot be undone.

The usual limits

Ascension is provided as it is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost work, lost income or indirect losses from using it. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be waived. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
